While working on new baby ‘Interface’ identified few difference between Events and interface.

Embed Video in Business Central

Last week my marketing manager asked me is it possible to embed product video in business central ? and my quick answer was YES.

Here how we can add the video in business central. for this I created simple extension

1) Added on field to hold an video URL

2) Create one page extension with action button to play the video URL.

Publish the extension and below was the result.

To Play video inside application you need to add embed URL as below

https://www.youtube.com/embed/5aGgktag6L8

If the URL is without embed then video will play outside the application

How to view database locks in business central

Do you remember this screen from classic client where in we can find who has locked whom.

Once we get blocking id then we try to kill those sessions using sql command .

This view detail information like which object id and which function is causing the database locks.

While working in C/AL we have leverage to see the table data from object designer itself but how we can view it from business central.

How to extend TableRelation Property-Business Central

Last week somebody asked me on can we extend table relation property and my answer was yes we can achieve this by table extension.

Today we will see how we can do that

Firstly create enum extension and extend as follows . For this demo I used Type field from Sales line table.

enumextension 50145 PlaySaleDocType extends "Sales Line Type"
{
    value(8; Retail)
    {

    }
}

Secondly create a table extension and modify required table relation property.

With the release of Business Central 2020 Wave 1 lot of new features has been added to make product more prominent.
